why the change to mybb jerms? just curious? what benefit is there?
we've been on mybb for almost 2 years now
i took the forums down saturday and sunday for version upgrades and other installs.
hmmmmm, could of sworn you guys were using phpbb, but guess i was mistaken.

yea we were on phpbb2 in 2006 when most of us joined (RIP spins.us), but i converted the forum over to mybb in late 2007. security was a huge factor for choosing mybb, since everyone knows that phpbb is widely used and spammed on all releases. but a lot of things such as a better admin control panel, theme layouts, better mod functions, and simpler addons/plugins. most of all - mybb was coded with server load a top priority, so its slim and it executes quickly..phpbb is well known for redlining servers especially when performing larger routine maintenance tasks on mid to large user databases. if i had a pick i would rather us be on vbulletin, since it has a nicer portal and calendar setup. but mybb is the closest free and open source alternative to that and the community is now pushing for more portal related services.
