It's a yakuza movie by the director of ichi the killer. I think this was the best film of his I've seen. I enjoyed it.
The ending was like LOL + wtf!!

Great film if you like ultraviolence sprinkled with perversion and cheese.

Is this a movie based off the video game? That would be a weird movie. Street fighter and Mortal Kombat were enough.

naw, It's by takashi Miike. He pretty much specializes in ultra violent movies about yakuza in some way. Critics describe the style as "punk rock" film making. Dunno, about that label, but some of his films are pretty damn good. Besides dead alive, Audition was pretty interesting. I hear he also has made films that don't fixate on violence and sex. They are supposed to be pretty good but I haven't checked em out yet. On the que........
